Surrey and English Gardens:
"I am fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK and have been designing gardens for clients in around the South East of England since 1977. My approach to each project is site specific and I listen carefully to my clients' brief. I hope the feel of these gardens is somehow comfortable and relaxing but still architecturally exciting. They shouldn't fight with their surroundings but carefully lead the eye to the countryside beyond. I avoid putting in any stiff hedges or strong barriers. Particular attention is paid to hard surfaces and the spacing of stones, their forms and patterns are very carefully worked out. I never use any composite stone, always natural stone or ceramics. My decks have been something I am particularly proud of and their precision design and construction is vital to the overall look."
