Central

London

For this imposing Grade II listed house, set in a prestigious development in central London, we created a garden to reflect the strong geometry and scale of the building, whilst also creating greater privacy for areas to entertain or relax.

A large lounging terrace in Belgian brick is surrounded with raised planting beds to create a feeling of intimacy. A dining area paved in natural stone is adjoined with a bespoke exterior kitchen area with BBQ. Water features with stainless steel fountains provide the sound of flowing water to mask the backdrop of central London traffic noise.

The microclimate in the garden provided by the surrounding buildings and walls allowed us to plant a wonderful selection of exotic and tender plants such as tree ferns Zantedeschia aethiopica, Calycanthus and Dichroa febrifuga. A screened herb garden and a new glasshouse allow the client to grow and enjoy fruit such as apricots, peaches, clementines and lemons.

The sculptures are all from The Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden in Ockley, Surrey owned by Anthony Paul and Hannah Peschar.
